We are looking to add an experienced Billing Associate (Insurance Verification) to our team that will contribute to our mission along with embodying the same values as us. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for taking pre-authorization and insurance verification for inpatient, outpatient, TMS, and psychological evaluation.
  • Must be aware of copay, deductible, co-insurance, out-of-pocket, and coordination of benefits.
  • Calculate accurate patient portions for upcoming visit. (Including past-due account balances).
  • Call high balance patients before the appointment to collect money from them.
  • Must be able to communicate with the front desk, biller, and insurance companies.
  • Scan verification documents into patient account.
  • Verifies Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid insurance for eligibility and benefit utilizing from one of the following methods.
  • Work closely with billing staff to assist in the identification of patient responsibility.
  • Process and post patient payments (credit cards) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
  • Must have excellent phone etiquette and solve patient’s issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be punctual and have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to communicate with patients to explain verification issues and convey messages in a manner that is easy for the patient to understand
  • Must be willing to work as a team player with fellow peers and providers
  • Proven experience in verification
  • Self-starter, multitasker and reliable
  • Adherence to laws
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel) and EMR software (Prior eCW experience is a plus)
  • Results-driven
